The Reflection

Writer's picture: ThirteenThirteen

In yesterday's post, we saw about maintaining distance to distinguish between the nature of two types of needs. The two needs being the one that emerges out of a basic necessity and the one out of compulsive behaviour. But essentially, they're nothing but a means (and an opportunity) to reflect, to look within. It's an opportunity to bring a sense of holistic view of oneself.

Whether we do it consciously and with awareness or not, we tend to always want to look within. It is only the conscious inward-looking that can be termed as reflection though. Otherwise, it's only our innate (and primitive) mind this hinting us to look inward.

That is the same primitive place from where the question of whether to eat or not that one more bite of the fried snack that we like comes from (the example is covered at length in yesterday's post). It requires one's presence, one's being to perceive this innate place though.

Today's post (in particular) from this week is more abstract than others because this is an experiential understanding. One can only comprehend this for themselves only through their own experience. this is something that may not be understood intellectually.

Creation of a desired life is an ambition, and yet we succumb to the fast paced life. In this time and age, 13 is a blog that provides a two minutes everyday read on six week days and on Sunday a free planning tool towards designing your future week is available to download that acts as your own mindfulness guide.
