The Manager within the Artist

Artists are referred to as creative people. Their skill of creation is what makes them who they are. But, what if I say that what sets apart great artists from a mediocre artist is not creativity? What could be that factor, if it's not creativity?

When Michaelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel, sure he was hired for the creative genius in him! But, it was a daunting, painful and an arduous task that required an immense amount of planning, managing - people, resources, his other commitments, discipline and himself. It is only that skill of managing set apart Michaelangelo from the rest of the artists in Florence. It is this very skill that sets apart an extraordinary from the ordinary - be it in any field.

Managing requires a great deal of patience, discipline, composure, focus and observance. There is the slowness within this life skill.
