The lies we live

Writer's picture: ThirteenThirteen

We shout at our kids for telling a lie. Is there any way to measure the number of lies we tell our kids from the day they are born? As a matter of fact, the context in which a kid is brought into this world itself is a big lie. Even before they can understand things for themselves we make them follow a religion, a belief, set of rituals that we think are right and thus make them live a life full of lies which we are living without any questions and introspection.

Every time a question is asked by a kid, the only way to answer that is to make them shut and push them back to the lies we live. The argument is that someday when they grow up, they will understand things better and they will be free to reset their minds. No. It won’t happen. So many of us die without questioning. So many of us die without observing.
