I recently came across a young family where the couple complained about how their kids don't read any books. I asked them a simple question, "what book are you reading currently?" There was an awkward pause and then one of them said, "Oh, we're so busy these days with work, we don't find time to read much". I had a follow-up question on my mind to check what was the last book that they read. But I refrained from asking that question as I did not want to create yet another awkward moment.
We all are aware that reading is important, we all feel that there is a dire necessity to it, yet we find it so difficult to do so. Are the excuses that we give real? Are those excuses given to console ourselves than anybody else? Why does this happen? We feel the need to read books and yet we don't, why?
