Power: Slowness in Power

To do what you said you will, in the time you said you will is both Power and Slowness. They both go hand in hand. Power can give the opportunity to be in slowness because it is the power which gives you the ability and wherewithal to say 'NO'. To say no to the things which you are not committed to in that point in time. One is not distracted in isolation, distraction is in the context of a commitment to do something else during that time. One thing is not more important than the other. Everything that you said you will do is equally important and should get its due time scheduled. Watching a movie with your family is not less important than a meeting with your customer or client. A time scheduled for meditation is as equally important as the time scheduled for a business review. The real power lies in sticking to these commitments and thereby relating to anything intervening in the scheduled activity is a distraction.

One is not distracted in isolation, distraction is in the context of a commitment to do something else during that time. One thing is not more important than the other. Everything that you said you will do is equally important and should get its due time scheduled.

Once Mahatma Gandhi was in a meeting with the other freedom fighters. All those in the meeting were very high profile personalities and the topics being discussed were of equally very high level. Gandhiji suddenly stands-up in the meeting and says it's time to feed the goat. So he completes the meeting at the scheduled time and walks towards the goat to feed. One thing is not more important over another. Your power is your access to your slowness.
