Yesterday's post was about finding one's voice in writing. But what next? How is it useful?
The one thing which happens when you find your voice in writing is that you then start writing for yourself. You are not bothered by the concerns of what others will think about how you write. Your topics come form your life, from your heart. Even when you are writing a fictional story it is coming from your imagination and it is your story. Of course its not your life story but a story you own. A story you always wanted to tell. Every character, every situation, every emotion and every twist/turn is yours.
When you are not worried about pleasing others, you write for your own happiness. When you write for your own happiness, irrespective of how many people read it or like it you drive pride out of your creation. There is a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment even when its a short story or a small narrative.
Then there is the aspect of catharsis which takes place when you do authentic and mindful writing. We will look into this topic in our post tomorrow.
