It’s all the same

I will be writing a six post series on this theme, "It's all the same". So it is to see how it's all the same if we take away the context of conditioning and societal norms from the content we call life. Some topics may appear meaningful and essential, and others may look superficial and irrelevant. But, as the title goes, it's still all the same.

Material vs Spiritual: Crime and sin are two different things in this world. Crime is decided based on the law of the land. Sin, on the other hand, is a religious concept. We achieve material gains and spiritual heights, passing them through the lens of crime and sins. We are ok if it's a sin, but we want to avoid doing crime in some cases. In some other, our act is legally incorrect, but it is not at all a sin. Thus, we can see fragmentation in our life approaches regarding worldly things and spiritual endeavours.

Thus we live a double life in a single body. In a single day, we are behind materialistic gains, and by night we turn towards spirituality. We confuse ourselves with mixed acts of selfishness and compassion. We are kind and cruel at the same time. We want to be grateful about life but are angry within. The entire concept of spirituality is a copied template handed to us by someone else, and we merely want to adhere to it in search of peace and freedom. Ultimately both the urges for materialism and spiritualism are the same. Our want and desire to be selfless people is an act full of selfishness.
