If you choose to opt for one of the ice cream flavours between Chocolate and Vanilla, do you think there is free will at play?
It seems like one has a choice. But, where is the choice coming from? Is it from free will, or is it determined based on some known and some not well-known parameters? It can also be based on randomness if you get a flavour that you think you also like. So, in either case, it is not free will. The dress you chose to wear, the place you chose to stay, or the work you agreed to do are all determined or based on randomness. To do or not to do is determined. That is why you feel like doing certain things, and you suddenly feel bored doing those same things. You think you did because you decided, but those decisions are beyond your independent will.
You can now say, of course, I could have opted for Vanilla instead of chocolate, but that is of little use. You did choose chocolate, not based on free will.
