I was born in the year 1642 and named after my father Blaise Pascal as Pascal Calculator. Though you can say I am French as my father but I have travelled across the globe. Thus it will not be a good idea to label me with any nationality.
I have always been a favourite of accountants and businessmen. But, if you ask me my favourites, I will say its the kids who take me in their hand for the first time. The kind of things they try with me is really mind-blowing. They make letters and thus short sentences out of my numbers, they create puzzles, signage and many different things which even I am not aware of. Of course, I do get into the wrong hands, those over-curious kids who want to break-open me to see how I work. They want to know how 2+2=4 comes out of me so quickly, and so they want to see all my parts, play with the display, and sometimes they connect different wires just for an experiment. Then comes the students who take my support for their exams. It's a pleasure to be handy while doing calculus problems and solve engineering formulae. The worst people I have been with are those who make mistakes but don't own them up. There were a few businessmen and stockbrokers who on getting unexpected outcome have literally thrown me on the wall. I was only telling than the truth. If their firm or stock is in loss, I cannot show them positive numbers to make them happy.

These days, people have substitutes for me. That mobile smartphone is too close to people than me. But there are a few loyal fans of mine who can't live without me. I count on them and count for them.
