'Being' in Human Being

Writer's picture: ThirteenThirteen

present participle

noun

the form of a verb, ending in -ing in English, which is used in forming continuous tenses, e.g. in I'm being (good, nasty, egotistic, gentle, calm... fill the verb of your preference)

______________________________

As mentioned in our yesterday's post, being is a present participle. We refer to ourselves as Human Being - have you ever wondered why? Have you ever given a thought to the 'being' in human being?

Now, re-read the definition of present participle above. Spend a few moments in silence to really (and I mean really) comprehend the meaning of 'being' in human being.
